In August, we squeezed in more fun before school started with our trip to Dallas!
We love visiting our family and old LH friends that live there. It seems like each year we are running around like crazy and still don’t get to spend enough time with everyone we wanted.
This year, I tried to focus more on spending time with people and worried less what we were doing. We traveled around, spending a night in Denton and Ft. Worth until we landed in Rockwall with the grandparents.
The kids saw these pics pop up on the computer, and instantly asked to go visit Grammy and Grandpa again!
We made it to Dallas! The first two nights we stayed with Michael and Cheryl. We’re trying to soak in as much cousin time with them before they pack up and move to NYC!
The kids had a blast playing, and because we’re crazy we ALL went out to India food
Miss Brittney- One more, “I used to be her youth group leader"... the one and only Miss Brittney. This girl is the mom I want to be when I grow up. She's gentle but firm, hilarious and sincere. She'd do anything for her boys and she's rocking the single mom gig. And even after our epic get together, in which her youngest regurgitated his dinner all over her, she was laughing! Completely covered, but laughing. And when in moments where you can cry or laugh, Britteny chooses to laugh. And this--and many more--is why I love her!
Here's our oldest boys hangin out! Apparently it's really heard to be 7 and 8 years old...lol...eavesdropping on their convo ;)
Miss Angela – She’s one of my closest and dearest friends from LH!. I remember her always telling me how I was too quiet and needed to talk more – but it’s hard to get a word in when you’re around Angela. I could listen to her laugh and crack jokes all day long. When Britt is over too, they’re unstoppable together. But I also love her serious side. I remember being so young, freshly married, poor college student, yet taking for granted so many basic things. Listening to her pour her heart out to me, and I’d do anything to take away her pains and sorrows. But sometimes just providing a listening ear is the best thing we can give. I LOVE you Miss Angela!
Miss Ruth – Oh man, this girl has been my bestie for as long as I can remember! I still remember how happy I was to have some younger couples from church move in. We hit it off instantly, and been inseparable since. She always has great advice, from home decorating to dealing with difficult kid moments. Brynlee and Tanner are just a few weeks apart, it’s been fun watching them grow up together! We went to the Dallas Arboretum, swimming, and just hanging out.
Miss Augusta- What seems like yesterday, I was this girls youth group leader. Seeing her, hugging her, brought back so many wonderful memories, and she's still every bit as amazing. Now she's found the man she going to spend forever with, and will soon be entering the mommy-sphere. She's always been filled with wisdom beyond her years and a smile that fills my heart with joy! Love you Miss Augusta Fornah!!
