
This week is actually snowed! Yes, snow in Dallas! It didn't last long - only in TX can you have it be below freezing one day and in the 70's the next. It still boggles my mind.
As a little kid, I remember always hoping for a white Christmas...but it wasn't until we moved up north until we really had a true white Christmas. But when we finally got some sort of freezing rain or hail, we would pull out the make-shift sleds (i.e. laundry baskets) and hit the slopes of our neighbors steep driveway. Oh those were the days! And without snow, we turned the stairs into our sledding hill. But after a few injuries, we wised up a bit and decided it just wasn't going to work.
Having grown up in the north, it's just hard to picture Christmas without snow!

PS - This is why I love older neighborhoods - we have trees that cover the sidewalks and streets.
